Beerwah Youth and Community Centre (BYCC)

A community-based centre geared to respond to the needs of adults and young people within the Beerwah and Hinterland region on the Sunshine Coast. The Centre is able to provide information, referrals and assistance in the areas of - Youth support; counselling; accommodation; employment; advocacy; emergency relief; homelessness; as well as offering room hire.

Programs based at BYCC are:

IFYS YELS (Youth Engagement & Linkage Service)

Assists young people aged between 12 and 18 years who live on the Sunshine Coast who are experiencing personal difficulties but are not sure who can help or where to start looking. Mon – Thurs 8:30 – 4:30pm (Times subject to change)

IFYS Emergency Relief

For people of all ages who are experiencing short term, financial crisis through a short assessment process.

Monday & Thursday 9am – 11am

IFYS Reconnect

A free and confidential service that helps young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to stabilise their living situation. We assist in finding a tailored solution suitable for the young person and their family’s unique circumstances.

Community Solutions Disability Employment Service (DES)

Specialises in assisting people who may be disadvantaged or have a disability into employment.

Tuesday & Thursday 9am – 5pm

Heidi Langley Mental Health Counsellor

Provides counselling to children aged between 3 – 17yrs and parents who suffer from depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, suicidal thoughts, self-harming, anger management, self-esteem issues, relationship problems/family conflict & life  crisis.

Centrelink visits BYCC every 2nd Thursday to see clients who are unable to make it in to the Caloundra or Kawana office. Please note that some services are not available. Please call BYCC on 54383000 to confirm attendance.

Emergency Relief

We provide Emergency Relief to people who are experiencing short term, financial crisis. Access to food supplies and referrals are available.

Youth Engagement and Linkage service (YELS)

YELS assists young people aged between 12 and 18 years who live on the Sunshine Coast who are engaging in high risk behaviours, are disengaged from family, school or their community. 

The team delivers services from Caloundra to Noosa in the Sunshine Coast Regional Council areas where particular public space issues have impacted upon young people and communities. The program assists young people to make connections with support services and provides responsive interventions to young people who lack links to supportive networks and services. 

YELS worker’s can assist with a range of referrals and provide individual client support, including but not limited to:

• Education, Employment and Training.

• Health Services.

• Financial Assistance and Emergency Transport.

• Housing.

• Family and Relationship Support.

• Access to Drug and Alcohol Services.

• Legal Support.

• Referrals to specialist visiting services including Centrelink, Counselling and Employment Services.
