Beerwah and District Youth and Community Centre (BADYACC) is a community based program geared to respond to the needs of young people within a string of communities located along the Sunshine Coast’s eastern railway corridor. The program is able to provide: counselling and intensive support services; accommodation referral; employment assistance; advocacy; mediation; developmental workshops and recreation.

The Beerwah Community Centre is open Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm.

The Centre currently offers the following programs:

Youth Engagement and Linkage service (YELS)

YELS assists young people aged between 12 and 18 years who live on the Sunshine Coast who are experiencing personal problems but are not sure who can help or where to start looking.

YELS worker’s can assist with a range of referrals and provide individual client support, including but not limited to:

• Education, Employment and Training.
• Health Services.
• Financial Assistance and Emergency Transport.
• Housing.
• Family and Relationship Support.
• Access to Drug and Alcohol Services.
• Legal Support.
• Referrals to  Specialist visiting Services including Centrelink, Counselling and Employment Services.

Reconnect

Reconnect is a free and confidential service that helps young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to stabilise their living situation. We assist in finding a tailored solution suitable for the young person and their family’s unique circumstances.  Some of the services we provide include counselling, mediation, group activities and practical support for the whole family. Emergency Relief

We provide Emergency Relief to people who are experiencing short term, financial crisis.
Basic financial assistance and referrals are available.
Monday 12:30pm - 2:30pm
Thursday 12:30pm - 2:30pm.

IFYS Program – Young Parents Support Program (YPSP)

Young Parents Support Program holds a Playgroup every Wednesday 11am to 1pm, except School Holidays. This is a free service with food and activities supplied. YPSP provides information, support, advocacy and referral to young parents aged to 26 years. For further information please contact 5479 5898.

Venue Hire
The rooms at the Centre are hired out to various community members. The fees are $16.50 per hour, $55 half day (4 hours) and $110 full day (8 hours). Please contact the Centre to discuss availability.

PRIME
The Prime Program is a 16 week program specifically designed for children aged 10 -12.
Prime is run through a partnership with IFYS and the Glasshouse Coalition of State Schools.
Participants are chosen and referred from their schools .The program targets students who may need additional support in managing their social and emotional behaviours.

IFYS Program – Young Parents Support Program
The Young Parents Support Program works with young pregnant women and young parenting families up to 25 years of age.  We provide a range of services and supports to young families to meet their ongoing needs including pregnancy and parenting support, social and recreational activities, weekly playgroups, home and hospital visits. We work collaboratively with a range of health and welfare services relevant to meeting the needs of young families. We offer a Young Parents Support Playgroup Mondays 10:30am-12:30pm. Transport is available and all services are free of charge.

Cool Connections – Women’s Group
A diverse women’s group for ladies who want to try different experiences, find friendships and support.  Workshops and guest speakers present every Friday 9.30am-11.30am during school terms.  For further information please call Esme 0408 077 882.
